This Privacy Policy describes how [LEGAL_ENTITY_NAME] ("WorkMe," "we," "us," or "our") handles personal information when you use our website at workme.pro, our mobile applications, hosted web portals (such as verification, chat, and response pages), and related services (collectively, the "Platform"). It is incorporated into our Terms of Service. Our mailing address is [LEGAL_ENTITY_ADDRESS].

1. Introduction

By accessing or using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our practices, please do not use the Platform.

WorkMe operates a U.S.-focused marketplace and work-management platform that connects Clients with Contractors and Workers. The Platform is intended for users in the United States. We process personal information to provide, secure, and improve the Platform, facilitate communications between users, and comply with applicable law.

2. Scope

This Policy applies to personal information we collect through:

  • The WorkMe iOS application and any other WorkMe mobile apps;
  • Our website and subdomains, including workme.pro;
  • Hosted web experiences linked from the Platform (e.g., phone verification, external chat portals, quote response pages, and profile claim flows);
  • Communications with us (email, in-app support, SMS, or other channels).

This Policy does not apply to third-party websites, app stores, payment processors, or services that maintain their own privacy policies. Users who interact with each other through the Platform may receive information about one another as described below; those users' own use of your information is governed by their practices and your direct agreements with them.

3. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following categories:

3.1 Information You Provide

  • Account & identity data: Name, email address, phone number, password or authentication credentials, profile photo, user role (Client, Contractor, or Worker), and account preferences.
  • Authentication data: Information from sign-in providers you choose (Apple, Google, phone/SMS verification, or email), including provider identifiers and verification status.
  • Profile & business data: Company name, business address, service areas, skills, licenses, provider classification (Licensed Contractor, Handyman, or Not a Licensed Contractor), compliance profile information, tax or business identifiers you submit, and public listing details.
  • Insurance and bonding data: Policy details, coverage limits, carrier names, certificates, and related documents you upload or enter. Unless labeled as verified on the Platform, this information is [INSURANCE_VERIFICATION_STATUS — e.g., self-reported].
  • Job & transaction data: Service requests, job descriptions, schedules, locations, pricing, proposals, quotes, work orders, status updates, ratings, and communications related to jobs.
  • Communications: Messages sent through in-app chat, support requests, outreach responses, and feedback you submit.
  • Media & documents: Photos, attachments, and documents you upload (e.g., job photos, claim verification documents).
  • Payment-related data: Billing contact information and transaction metadata. Payment card details are processed by third-party payment processors (such as [PAYMENT_PROCESSOR_NAME]); we do not store full card numbers on our servers.
  • Consent & preference records: Marketing opt-ins, SMS consent, and acknowledgments of disclosures (including provider classification disclosures).

3.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device & technical data: Device type, operating system, app version, browser type, language, IP address, device identifiers, and crash or diagnostic logs.
  • Usage data: Features used, screens viewed, actions taken, timestamps, referral URLs, and interaction with AI or support features.
  • Location data: Approximate location derived from IP address; precise location if you grant permission (e.g., for service-area matching, ETA features, or address autofill). Location may be displayed in privacy-preserving form (such as a radius) until a job progresses.
  • Security & fraud-prevention data: App Check tokens, authentication events, and signals used to protect accounts and the Platform.

3.3 Information From Third Parties

  • Authentication providers: Apple, Google, and Firebase Authentication.
  • Business & place data: Public business listings and place information (e.g., from Google Places) when you search for or claim a company profile.
  • Compliance & licensing sources: Official state contractor registries and related public records where we perform license verification (for example, the Arizona Registrar of Contractors and equivalent state systems). We store verification results, timestamps, and status history.
  • Service providers: Analytics, hosting, messaging, and support vendors that assist in operating the Platform (see Section 7).

3.4 Sensitive Information

We do not intentionally collect sensitive categories of personal information (such as health data, biometric identifiers for identification purposes, or government ID numbers) unless you voluntarily provide them in connection with a specific feature (e.g., identity or business verification uploads) and we disclose that collection at the point of collection. Identity verification is not a consumer background check under the Fair Credit Reporting Act unless we expressly state otherwise in a separate disclosure. Please do not submit sensitive information unless requested for a specific purpose.

4. How We Use Information

We use personal information to:

  • Provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Platform;
  • Create and manage accounts and authenticate users;
  • Connect Clients with Contractors and Workers; facilitate job posting, proposals, scheduling, and messaging;
  • Process payments and prevent fraud;
  • Verify business profiles, phone numbers, and—where available—contractor licenses and compliance status;
  • Provide AI-assisted features such as service detection, job planning, recommendations, and support assistance;
  • Send transactional communications (account alerts, verification codes, job updates, security notices);
  • Send promotional communications where permitted and with your consent or as allowed by law;
  • Provide customer support and respond to inquiries;
  • Monitor, analyze, and improve performance, security, and user experience;
  • Enforce our Terms of Service, protect rights and safety, and comply with legal obligations;
  • Conduct research, testing, and product development in aggregated or de-identified form where possible.

5. AI and Automated Processing

WorkMe uses automated systems, including artificial intelligence and machine learning services (such as Google Gemini via secure server-side processing), to help classify services, suggest job details, rank or match providers, generate support responses, and assist with operational workflows.

  • Inputs to AI features may include job descriptions, messages, profile data, and related context you provide on the Platform.
  • AI outputs are assistive and may be inaccurate or incomplete. They are not a substitute for professional, legal, licensing, safety, or financial advice.
  • We implement safeguards designed to limit unnecessary exposure of personal information in AI processing and to process sensitive AI requests on secure infrastructure where feasible.
  • We may retain prompts, outputs, and related logs for quality, safety, debugging, and improvement, subject to our retention practices and applicable law.
  • Automated matching or ranking is assistive only and does not produce legal or similarly significant effects without human review where required by law.

6. International Visitors

WorkMe is based in the United States and does not currently market the Platform in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland. If you access the Platform from outside the U.S., you understand that your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate, which may have different data protection laws than your country.

If you are located outside the U.S. and have questions about your information, contact hello@workme.pro.

7. Sharing and Disclosure

We may share personal information in the following circumstances:

  • With other users: To facilitate the Platform's core functions—for example, Clients may see Contractor profiles, proposals, and relevant job details; Contractors may see Client job information necessary to quote and perform work. You control much of what you share through your profile and job postings.
  • With service providers: Vendors that help us operate the Platform, including:
    • Google Firebase / Google Cloud Platform — hosting, databases, authentication, security, and related infrastructure;
    • Google Gemini (or successor AI services) — server-side AI inference and assistive features;
    • Telnyx — SMS verification, one-time passcodes, and messaging delivery;
    • [PAYMENT_PROCESSOR_NAME] — payment processing;
    • Apple and Google — sign-in and app distribution where applicable;
    • Google Maps / Places — location, address, and business listing features;
    • Analytics, email, customer support, and security vendors as needed.
    These providers are authorized to use information only as needed to perform services for us and are subject to contractual confidentiality and security obligations.
  • For legal and safety reasons: When we believe disclosure is required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; to enforce our terms; to protect the rights, property, or safety of WorkMe, our users, or others; or to detect and address fraud or security issues.
  • Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.
  • With your direction: When you ask us to share information or integrate with a third-party service.

We do not sell your personal information for monetary consideration. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as "selling" or "sharing" under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA.

8. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Our website and hosted web portals may use cookies, local storage, pixels, and similar technologies to:

  • Maintain sessions and security (including Firebase Authentication flows);
  • Remember preferences;
  • Measure traffic and usage patterns;
  • Protect against abuse.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect certain features, including sign-in and verification pages. Our mobile apps may use analogous on-device identifiers and SDKs for similar purposes.

9. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Platform, fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary based on data type, account status, and legal requirements.

When information is no longer needed, we delete, anonymize, or de-identify it in accordance with our retention schedule and applicable law. Some information may persist in backup systems for a limited period or where retention is required by law.

10. Data Security

We implement administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit (TLS), access controls, authentication safeguards, and secure cloud infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You may delete your account through in-app settings where available, or by contacting us. Deletion may be subject to retention required for legal, security, or dispute-resolution purposes.

12. SMS and Communications Preferences

If you provide a phone number, you may authorize WorkMe and our vendors (including Telnyx) to send SMS or other text messages for:

  • Account verification and authentication (including one-time passcodes);
  • Security alerts and account notifications;
  • Job-related updates you request or that are necessary to provide the Platform;
  • Marketing messages only where you have separately opted in or as permitted by law.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of promotional SMS where supported, or contact us at hello@workme.pro. Reply HELP for assistance. Consent to receive marketing SMS is not a condition of using the Platform except where needed for account security or transactional messages you request.

We maintain records of SMS consent, opt-in time, and opt-out requests as required by law and carrier rules (including 10DLC campaign requirements where applicable).
