This guide covers creating a new WorkMe account (registration). If you already have an account, see Sign in.
Step 1 — Open the app
On the welcome screen, tap Sign in / Register.
Step 2 — Choose how to register
You can register with any of these methods (same account system):
- Continue with Google
- Continue with Apple
- Continue with Phone — enter US mobile number, receive SMS code, then complete profile fields
- Continue with Email — enter name, email, password, phone, and state (used for matching and licensing rules)
By continuing, you agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy (links on the auth screen).
Step 3 — Select account type
After you submit registration details, WorkMe shows How will you use WorkMe?
- Tap Client if you need to hire contractors for work.
- Tap Contractor if you run a service business and want to bid on jobs.
Tap Continue to finish creating the account.
Step 4 — Email verification (email sign-up only)
If you registered with email and password, check your inbox for a verification message and follow the link before full access. You can resend verification from the in-app prompt if needed.
Step 5 — Contractor profile setup (contractors only)
New contractor accounts go to Profile setup before the main app:
- Enter business / listing details (name, address, services, service area).
- Optionally link a Google Business Profile listing and complete ownership verification.
- Tap Create (or Verify when claiming a Google listing).
When setup completes, you land on the contractor Home tab.
Clients after registration
Clients go straight to the Services tab — you can post your first request from New Request.
Troubleshooting registration
- App Check / attestation errors: use a production build or follow your team's debug token setup (developers: see in-app Firebase debug notes).
- SMS not arriving: confirm the phone number, check spam filters, and try again after a minute.
- Email already in use: sign in instead, or use Forgot password if you forgot the password.
